NATCHEZ REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES VICE PRESIDENT OF NURSING AND VICE PRESIDENT OF
FINANCE/CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Lana Morgan and Charles Mock Accept Responsibilities of Nursing and Finance
Lana Morgan, after serving as Interim Vice President of Nursing for the past several weeks, has accepted the position on a permanent basis. “We are thrilled that Lana has agreed to become our Vice President of Nursing. Her accomplishments thus far have certainly indicated to everyone that she is the right person to have in this leadership position,” stated Scott Phillips, CEO, Natchez Regional Medical Center.
Lana brings over 25 years of experience in the healthcare profession, with 18 of those years being served at Natchez Regional. She has previously held the positions of Coronary Care Unit Manager, Critical Care Educator and staff nurse, Director of Education and Quality, Infection Control and Joint Commission Liaison. She received her undergraduate degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Masters in Nursing Education from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
As the leader of the hospital’s largest department, Lana is focusing on the areas of knowledge, accountability, professionalism and teamwork to ensure the hospital’s continued commitment to patients’ safety and quality care.
Dan Bland, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Natchez Regional, echoes Phillips pleasure at Mrs. Morgan’s acceptance of this position. “Anyone who knows Lana understands her desire for and commitment to professionalism and recognizes her intelligence, leadership skills and expertise needed to help move our hospital forward,” said Bland.
After serving in various financial positions, including most recently Controller of Natchez Regional, Charles Mock has assumed the duties of Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. “Charles has been a vital part of Natchez Regional Medical Center for 20 years; and I am confident his knowledge and expertise of healthcare finances make him an obvious choice for this important position,” stated Phillips.
Charles received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Alcorn State University. He has been an integral part of improving and stabilizing the hospital’s current operations and a leader in putting strategies into place that will help the hospital improve annualized profits by $5 million.
According to Bland, “Mr. Mock’s role in guiding the hospital to a stronger financial position as we reorganize and restructure is crucial. We are fortunate to have him on our team.”
