NATCHEZ REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER ANNOUNCES
VICE PRESIDENT OF MEDICAL AFFAIRS
Dr. Ken Stubbs Accepts New Role as VP of Medical Affairs
Scott Phillips, Chief Executive/Restructuring Officer for Natchez Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce that Dr. Ken Stubbs has accepted the position as Vice President of Medical Affairs. In this role, Dr. Stubbs will work with all areas of the hospital regarding clinical quality, physician relationships and medical staff affairs, and will be a part of the hospital’s leadership and management team.

“During the restructuring phase of the hospital over the next 90 – 120 days, it is especially crucial that we have the support, input and involvement of our medical staff,” said Phillips. “As a respected physician among his colleagues, as well as an active and respected community leader, Dr. Stubbs was an obvious choice. We are elated that he accepted this position,” added Phillips.

Dr. Stubbs will continue part-time in his private medical practice and looks forward to his new role and responsibilities. Reporting directly to the VP of Medical Affairs will be the Departments of Case Management, Employed Physician Management, Infection Control and Health Information Systems. According to Dr. Stubbs, “This position will provide an opportunity for the medical staff to become more involved in the everyday operations of the hospital, and we will have a bigger voice in how Natchez Regional achieves its goals.” “Mr. Phillips has hit the ground running, and I look forward to being an active participant in the turnaround process. In order for this role to have a positive, major impact on Natchez Regional, it is imperative that we have the acceptance and full cooperation of the medical staff. I will do my part to provide leadership, facilitate teamwork and shared goals,” stated Stubbs.

Phillips added that the next few months will be very intensive, but also a great opportunity for the hospital to make a break with the previous practices and move forward. “Dr. Stubbs acceptance of the role as Vice President of Medical Affairs is a positive endorsement of the future of Natchez Regional Medical Center, said Phillips”
